Project Compassion

Project Compassion is Caritas Australia's annual Lenten campaign to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity. The theme for Project Compassion 2019 is based around hope and giving Lent 100% in the name of hope. Hope is one of the three pillars of Christian virtue. The other two being faith and charity. It is a powerful force for good and often helps to transform lives. Hope helps us to face life’s challenges and sustains us as we work alongside the most marginalised and vulnerable communities to achieve better lives.

Based on God’s love for all, hope enables us to rise above our fears and helps those in great need to shape a better future for their communities. Caritas Australia believes that fundraising should be FUN! It’s also an opportunity to raise awareness about important issues, and a chance for the community to take part in a social justice action. Everyone who contributes is empowered and able to stand in solidarity, with the communities we
serve and those who benefit from our actions. Lives change when we all give 100%.
