Our Year 3 and Year 5 students are in the middle of the NAPLAN testing period. Because of their thorough preparation for this testing, our students have approached each part of the assessment with a level of calmness and confidence. NAPLAN provides our children with the opportunity to demonstrate what they know. With the guidance of our Primary Learning Leader, our teachers have worked hard to ensure that our children have been set up for success. NAPLAN data is used by schools to look at overall trends relating to students' progress in literacy and numeracy, allowing us to focus on learning gaps through an item analysis or more broadly to hone in on a particular aspect of literacy or numeracy. An analysis of NAPLAN data led us to focus on writing across the school. It is our hope that the work in this space will be reflected in our NAPLAN results moving forward.
