Scooter Skills Training

Riding a scooter makes the school run fun and we’d love to see more students scoot to school. To make sure our Year 1 and 2 students have the skills and experience to safely scoot to school, Brisbane City Council is offering them a FREE 60 minute scooter skills session with a professional coach.

As part of the Active School Travel program, this session provides our Year 1 and 2 children with invaluable safety skills and will be held at school on Thursday 26th November during school time.

The training will cover:

  • Safety check including helmet, wheels and handle
  • Emergency stops
  • Scooter control, environment scanning, signalling and riding manoeuvres
  • Safely crossing intersections, the road and driveways
  • Footpath etiquette

Students need to bring their own scooter and helmet, although there are some available to borrow if you need them. A brochure with a permission slip was sent home with interested students and is due back to the school office by Monday, 23rd November.

Scooter skills training is fully funded by Brisbane City Council’s Active School Travel Program and places are limited. Be quick to secure your place!
