Music Programme

Every class at St Stephens School attends a 40 minute music lesson each week. Children are taught a general music programme based on the Queensland Arts Curriculum. They understand and respond to musical elements through singing, playing instruments, listening, improvising and moving.

An optional part of the music programme is choir. Choir practices are held outside of class time. There are two choirs: Junior Choir and Senior Choir. Junior choir is for children in Yrs 2 and 3. Yr 1 children will be invited to join later in the year. Children who enjoy singing are invited to come and try choir at any time. There are no auditions and no costs.

The Senior Choir is open to students from Yrs 4, 5 and 6. This choir will perform at several different events this year.
