What an incredible 24 hours! Our day began with a staff Mass in the Chapel and the staff enjoyed coffees on the deck afterwards. From there the Blessed Sacrament was exposed on the Altar. This began adoration. All of the students from Years 3 to 6 visited the chapel throughout the day for half an hour. The students were led in a guided meditation on Matthew 17, where Peter walks on the water to come to Jesus. Peter soon learns that he must keep his eyes fixed on Jesus if he is to achieve the impossible.
Our students had some beautiful reflections which have been included in our latest newsletter. Some students even came during lunch time to pray in their own time!
After school finished, we then had over 70 parents, families, parishioners from Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of Lourdes, nuns and teachers all coming to adoration throughout the night. There was always at least 2 people present. It was like the calm in the storm, amidst the windy night.
We then culminated Adore for 24 with a beautiful Mass in the hall with the whole school, led by Fr Tony Girvan.
There were so many blessings and graces. I want to thank all of you who came along and participated in one way or another. Thanks especially to all the people who brought us food throughout the night. We were fed spiritually and physically!
