Laudato Si Week

This week marks the global recognition of Laudato Si’ week.

A sense of deep communion with the rest of nature cannot be real if our hearts lack tenderness, compassion and concern for our fellow human beings.” (Laudato Si’, 91)

Through Laudato Si’ Pope Francis challenges us to more fully answer the call to care for others and care for God's creation. Laudato Si’ Week is a global celebration to unite Catholics to rejoice in the progress we have made in bringing Laudato Si’ to life since the Pope’s encyclical emerged eight years ago.

Our Year 6 Laudato Si’ committee have been working on some excellent initiatives with their teachers regarding the rubbish in the school. At assembly two weeks ago, they challenged each student to collect 1 piece of rubbish before returning to class from playtime. This committee has plans for how they can audit this rubbish and help our school to be better care takers of God’s creation.
