Absentees

A record of the attendance of students is kept daily. Parents are requested to notify the school by 8:45am, via the Parent Portal or BCE Connect app, if your child will not be attending school for the day and the school has not previously been informed.

In the case of an extended absence, parents should advise the school in writing of your child's anticipated date of return to school. If your child is absent due to illness for more than two (2) consecutive days, a medical certificate may be required to explain their days absent.

Books & Stationery

The school will order all textbooks, equipment, resources, and stationery your child will require for the year. Parents will be charged a levy to pay for these items. This levy will appear on the School Fees account for Term 1.

Communication - Parent / School

The Principal and teachers are happy to meet with parents to discuss your child's progress at school and/or other school related matters. If you would like to discuss a classroom issue, please contact your child's teacher in the first instance. To do this, please make an appointment with the class teacher via email to ensure the teacher is free of other commitments. If you would like to discuss a general school matter, please make an appointment to see the Principal.

Fire & Emergency Evacuation Procedures

When the first signal is sounded, children must leave the building via the exit doors and move, as directed by the teachers. The fire warden will ensure the building is empty. The roll is called once all the children are assembled in the safety zone.

Children and staff will return to the building once the roll is called and the all-clear signal has been given. The evacuation plan is displayed at the entry and exit points of each room. Fire drills are held at least once a semester.

Lost Property

All items of clothing and property should be clearly named. Items of unclaimed property are kept at the school office. The school disposes of any unmarked and unclaimed clothing and/or property at the end of each term.

Newsletters

The newsletter is prepared weekly and is available on the Parent Portal and/or the BCE Connect app.

School Photographs

Class, individual and family photos are taken each year, at school. Parents who wish to purchase school photos are asked to pay in advance, or on the day, the photos are taken.

Traffic & Parking

Visitors, parents, and members of staff are expected to drive safely when in the vicinity of the school or on school property and are asked to follow the signage on the surrounding streets and on the grounds as the safety of everyone is a high priority.

Parents and visitors are not to park in the staff carpark or use this access point as a drop-off/pickup point.

Visitors to the School

When visiting the school during school hours, please register your arrival and departure by signing in and out at the office. When you sign-in, you will be given a sticker to wear (e.g. visitor, volunteer etc). These procedures assist with school safety and security.
